Tactical Handgun

Course Description:

Lots of folks carrying guns these days, and the state has made sure that some of them know the law, (the legal ones) but very few know how to use them to win a fight. Its like a violin, just because you own one doesn’t mean you can play it in concert. Cans and bottles don’t shoot back.

Six hours can’t make you a gunfighter, but we will lay the foundation of principles that if practiced regularly will make you capable of defending yourself against many threats. We’ll cover mindset, marksmanship, manipulation, malfunctions, and then incorporate movement, unarmed combatives, and tactical scenarios. Perfect for a team, so bring your mate if applicable.

Course Requirements:

The handgun you intend to use to defend yourself, (minimum .380/.38 special preferred) a sturdy belt mounted holster that fits the gun, 2 spare magazines/loaders, 150 rounds of ammo, eye and ear protection, clothing appropriate to weather, open mind, lunch and plenty of fluids. If you have a less than functional body part, knees etc, knee-pads are a good idea. Wear shoes with ankle support, and bring a few band aids, and a camp chair.

  • 1. Owning a gun doesn't mean you know how to fight with it.
  • 2. Reality is, at the distances where a fight is most likely to occur, accessing and using a concealed firearm may be the least effective response to an immediate threat of violence. Knowing how to fight with or without your weapon will save your life.
  • "Tell us about a person you admire. What has this person taught you?"
  • Total Self Defense combines 30 years of experience in firearms training and with street-wise unarmed response tactics in short, we have taken from the best, and combined it in classes that provide realistic preparation for violent conflicts.
  • We aren't dogmatic, and we are good teachers. We welcome new shooters, and we love women who want to prepare properly
  • Come and see. It'll be worth it.
